We are delighted to confirm that Ty Lesser and Darren Frimpong-Kwakye recently signed scholarships with the Hatters Academy after impressing during their trial periods earlier this season.

Attacking midfielder Ty is from Rickmansworth, and has previously spent time on trial at Arsenal while playing for Northwood and the Hertfordshire County Schools squad.

He has scored four times and provided three assists already this season across the Under-18s and 17s, and Academy manager Paul Benson said: "Ty is a bright, lively attacking midfield player, capable of performing down the middle or off the right and left hand side.

"His direct dribbling, sharp movement and goal involvements quickly impressed during his trial period and earned him a two-year scholarship."

Versatile Darren is a 17-year-old south Londoner who played men's grass-roots football for FC Battersea Ironsides last season. Like Ty, he has already contributed significantly to the youth team campaign, with two goals and six assists.

"Darren impressed during a showcase game in the summer and after a successful trial was offered a scholarship with the academy," said Benson.

"Left footed with great physical attributes, Darren can play across the front line or at left wing-back. Having never been in an academy before, Darren has high potential and we are delighted to have the opportunity to continue working with him."

Congratulations Ty and Darren!
