Matt Bloomfield says the Town will wait on the fitness of Elijah Adebayo and Alfie Doughty for Tuesday’s trip to Stoke City.

The pair were both withdrawn in the second half of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Leeds on Saturday and the manager says he will wait to see if they can be involved for the game in the Potteries.

Should they be unavailable Bloomfield is happy with the strength in depth he has at his disposal with Tahith Chong, Milli Alli and Lasse Nordås in contention to feature.

The boss also revealed that Marvelous Nakamba and Shandon Baptiste are also close to a return.

“Marv will train fully for the first time today [Monday] and could be in consideration for the weekend,” said Bloomfield.

“Shandon could be back for the Easter weekend, but we need to be careful with them both.

“We’ve got competition for places now which is important for the run-in.”

The Town make the journey north aiming to make it three successive victories away from home knowing a win could lift them out of the relegation zone.

“After the wins at Cardiff and Hull we have to stay calm,” said the boss. “Nothing will be decided on Tuesday but we understand it’s a big game.

“We’ll approach it with confidence. We need to stay disciplined and impose ourselves on the game.

“Stoke are strong at home, organised, limit the opposition to very little at home and carry threat in the wide areas.

“But we’re confident. The noise levels around the place over the past four to five weeks has risen and that’s a sign that confidence is on the up.”
