Together Against Racism

Racism will not be tolerated and we stand together to remove it from our game – and from society

This weekend we’re wholeheartedly supporting the EFL’s Together Against Racism Campaign.

We believe that football is a game for everyone, everywhere, and we are proud of the welcoming atmosphere our supporters create here at Kenilworth Road.

Despite the good work from clubs, players, staff and the EFL in supporting anti-racism campaigns, there were still 141 incidents of racist abuse at EFL grounds last season – and it’s likely many more went unnoticed.

Our very own Elijah Adebayo was subjected to online abuse a year ago and we continue to support him and any of our players who are on the receiving end of this pathetic, sad, cowardly act.

Racism will not be tolerated and we stand together to remove it from our game – and from society.

A reminder: those engaging in racist abuse face up to five years in prison. Stadium bans can last 10 years. You certainly won’t be welcome at Kenilworth Road.

Last season 17 fans were banned from their clubs and 24 faced police convictions for racist abuse at EFL grounds, with many more being referred for restorative justice or still under investigation.

We have also committed in our customer charter to providing safe matchday experiences for all supporters regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability or sexual orientation, and this applies equally to home and away fixtures.

In the event that any Luton supporters do make discriminatory chants, the Club will work with the police and football authorities to help identify such individuals. Any such fans would then face the strictest club sanctions, including football banning orders that would prevent them attending any matches, in addition to any criminal charges.

Furthermore, we would like to warn against pitch incursions and the use of pyrotechnics or missiles – which could lead to potential prosecution.

The Club can also be held responsible for the behaviour of its supporters, which could lead to substantial fines being imposed.

As a diverse and inclusive football club, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our fellow EFL clubs in supporting the FA’s ‘Love Football. Protect the Game’ campaign and call on all fans to enjoy the game in a positive spirit.

If you are offended by any discriminatory abuse of any kind at any of our games, you can report it by contacting your nearest steward immediately, by emailing [email protected] or reporting the incident via Kick it Out's free, confidential reporting app on the App Store and Google Play.

We're all Luton.
