The boss guided the Town to 18 wins in his first 365 days in charge and a successful Championship play-off campaign which ended with promotion to the Premier League.

“What a 12 months,” said Edwards. “We’ve been on such a brilliant journey already and we want to keep this going. We want this Premier League journey to keep on going as well, so it’s important that we all stick together and keep working really hard.

“We have been doing that and we will continue to do that. The players are amazing, they are a pleasure to work with every day, they constantly want to improve.

“I so want to do it for these supporters, I cannot thank the fans enough and I’d like to think we’ve been good for each other.

“As long as the fans enjoy having us around then we’ll keep working hard for them and this football club, then hopefully we can enjoy many more really good times together.”

Edwards claimed that he was nervous going into his first ever Luton Town game, which was away at Middlesbrough in December 2022, after being unsure on what his reception would be due to his previous role.

“Seeing the welcome sign from the away end made me feel a lot better because we had a few weeks to bed in, but I hadn’t met many fans yet.

“I was nervous because I came in after Nathan and obviously, I had been down the road as well, so there was a lot of apprehension at the time.

“So seeing the banner, seeing the fans applauding and welcoming us before kick-off was really special.”

Rob's full interview, alongside Richie Kyle and Paul Trollope, will be released on Friday evening.
