Playing Pompey on Saturday

Our official match preview for Portsmouth

Safe standing at Kenilworth Road.

Luton Town are back at Kenilworth Road as we host Portsmouth in the Sky Bet Championship (Saturday, 3pm UK).

Matt Bloomfield’s Hatters are still on the hunt for the first win of 2025 and sit five points from safety.

John Mousinho’s Pompey have picked up positive results in the last few weeks, steering themselves further away from relegation with three consecutive wins.

The opposition

Portsmouth have had their best winning run of the season during the last few weeks. After earning a draw against Burnley before a narrow defeat at Sheffield United, Pompey won the next three games.

Two wins at Fratton Park against Cardiff City and QPR were accompanied by a win on the road at Oxford United as Saturday's visitors now sit nine points clear of the drop zone.

Pompey have spread the goals around the squad during those three wins, with Josh Murphy contributing to every minute of them and returning a goal and two assists.

Last time we met in LU4

The Town were pushing for the League One title when Pompey last visited Kenilworth Road in January 2019.

We came out on top in a five-goal thriller in the snow with goals from James Collins (pictured) and George Moncur gifting us all three points.

The referee for our fixture against Portsmouth will be Sam Allison.

100 yellow cards and one red card has been handed out by Allison across his 23 games this season.
