Nigel nominated for Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month

Vote for Hatters defender and Ethon Archer in December's awards

Nigel Lonwijk Reading

Hatters defender Nigel Lonwijk's equalising goal at Reading has been nominated for Sky Bet League One's Goal of the Month.

The on-loan Wolves man struck a beauty to bring Town level at 2-2 after being two goals down at the Madejski Stadium, only for Reading to grab a winner immediately after the restart.

Still, it was a beautiful strike for Nigel's first goal in a Luton shirt and we need you, Hatters fans, to vote for him via the link below.

This is how the league described it: "As Lonwijk proved with this majestically timed shot, there is something special about a daisy-cutter that finds its way past a sea of legs and into the bottom corner from outside the area."

Fans are invited to vote for their favourite goal on EFL.com before 5pm on Monday 19th January.

The supporters' votes will be combined with the choices from a panel to determine the winners.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL experts Don Goodman & David Prutton.

And while you're there, why not vote for Ethon Archer in the League Two category? His fine goal for Cheltenham against Swindon has been nominated, and is decribed as: "Cheltenham’s free-kick routine looked to have fallen flat as it was hacked away. The Swindon defence had reckoned without Archer’s half-volley which was both perfectly timed and placed."

Nigel is up against Huddersfield's Leo Castledine), Cardiff's Perry Ng and Lincoln's Adam Reach for the award, while Ethon is in competition with Accrington's Benn Ward, Newport's Sammy Braybrooke and Jack Sparkes of Bristol Rovers.
