Our official match preview for Norwich City away

carrow road

Luton Town are back on our travels on Saturday as we visit Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship (3pm GMT).

Rob Edwards’ Hatters will be looking to bounce back after defeat against the league leaders Leeds United at Elland Road.

Johannes Hoff Thorup’s Canaries responded positively to being winless in seven games with a huge 6-1 win against Plymouth Argyle during midweek.

Team news

Reece Burke will miss out at Carrow Road after being substituted at half-time against Leeds on Wednesday due to a quad injury.

Liam Walsh, who did not feature at Elland Road, will remain out with a hamstring issue.

Longer term absentees Alfie Doughty and Reu Walters will also not be in contention for this fixture.

The opposition

Norwich went over a year without defeat at Carrow Road before Bristol City took all three points against the Canaries earlier this month.

The loss to the Robins has seemed to spark the Canaries into gear, playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion before the hammering at the expense of Plymouth on Tuesday.

23-year-old Spanish striker Borja Sainz (pictured) is the man in form off the back of his hat-trick against Argyle, taking his total up to 14 league goals already this season.

The Spaniard was voted Championship Player of the Month in September and has already beat his career-high for goals scored in one season (10).

Last time we met

Ten-man Luton left it late to take all three points against Norwich at Kenilworth Road on Boxing Day 2022.

Substitute Cauley Woodrow made the desired impact from the bench in the 90th minute as his finish rewarded Rob Edwards his first win as Luton manager.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Norwich will be Josh Smith.

63 yellow cards and one red card has been handed out by Smith across his 15 games this season.

Our away victory at Millwall in September was the last Luton game officiated by Smith this season.
