Rob Edwards’ side will be full of confidence after a dominant victory against top four hopefuls Newcastle United at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.
Chris Wilder’s Blades have seen improved performance levels since Wilder’s return and took a point from high-flying Aston Villa last Friday night.
The opposition
Wilder made his return to Bramall Lane earlier this month following the dismissal of Paul Heckingbottom, who had left the Blades bottom of the Premier League.
The Stocksbridge-born manager successfully guided United from League One to the Premier League before departing the club in March 2021.
Sheffield United’s last Boxing Day victory in the top-flight came against Luton in 1990, a 1-0 win at Kenilworth Road.
This will be United’s 100th league game on Boxing Day since the Football League was formed, with the Blades coming out on top in 44 of those games.
Last meeting
Championship play-off chasing Luton took all three points from second-place Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in March.
Top scorer Carlton Morris scored just after half-time to claim a huge win for the Hatters, who went on to join the Blades in the Premier League at the end of last season.
Last time out
Luton concluded an emotional week with their first clean sheet of the season and victory against Newcastle at Kenilworth Road.
Andros Townsend headed in his first goal for the Hatters, and his first Premier League goal since February 2021 as we held on for three precious points.

60 yellow cards and one red card has been handed out by Allison across his 15 games this season.
