MATCH PREVIEW | QUEENS PARK RANGERS (H)

The Hatters are back in action tonight and have the added incentive of knowing they could move out of the relegation zone if they beat Queens Park Rangers at Kenilworth Road.

After a superb 2-0 away victory against Huddersfield Town, Town moved to within two points of safety in the Sky Bet Championship and will look to continue their good form since the restart again this evening.

QPR, on the other hand, will be keen to put defeat against Sheffield Wednesday behind them and be victorious for the second time since play restarted, which could move them up to 14th.

As always, you can watch and listen to the game on iFollow Hatters. Details on how to secure your match pass can be found at the bottom of the page.

Reflecting on the reverse fixture: “It’s a different time now because of COVID-19, lockdown, no crowds, so on and so forth. QPR are a good side. I’ve played against QPR and I’ve managed against QPR, so I know they are a tough side. I know there are a tough side to play against. They have some real, real good players and we’re going to have to be at it. We have to concentrate on our threats and make sure we’re as good as we can be. If we are, then hopefully we can pick up a result."

On Eberechi Eze: He’s a good player, a very good player. He was excellent against [Stoke] first game of the season. He scored so I don’t want a repeat of that! We will be prepared, it’s a big game for us; monumental for us really, so we have to make sure we are right at it.”

How he is feeling ahead of the three remaining games: “I’m enjoying the challenge. I love being back at the club, I love working with this group. The challenges are massive, but this is why you do it. I left my previous club in November, had time to reflect but I was itching for the right opportunity to get back in and I’m rested and ready to go.

“The only issue I have is I have a new-born and my wife is having to hold the fort, but apart from that I’m loving it! Good set of staff here, great club. We miss the fans because they’re a big, big thing for us but apart from that, it’s brilliant. It’s a great challenge. It’s what you want to do.”

Who?

Queens Park Rangers were founded in 1882 and the club’s achievements include winning the League Cup in 1967, and they were FA Cup finalists in 1982.

In the last 10 years, the R’s spent three years in the Premier League but after their relegation in 2015, they have been in the Championship ever since.

When and where?

Kick-off is 7:45pm at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday 14th July.

Man in the middle?

The referee for tonight’s match is Stephen Martin, who has taken charge of 34 games this season – including our away games against West Bromwich Albion, Millwall and Barnsley – dishing out 85 yellow cards and two reds.

Played before?

The two sides met back in September and QPR made a rampant start in that game, leading 3-0 after 28 minutes. Town pulled two goals back but suffered defeat at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

The R’s also hold the superior all-time head to head record over the Hatters too, winning 38 times compared to Luton’s 31 victories.
