Match Preview | Middlesbrough (A)

The Sky Bet Championship is back as the Hatters head to Middlesbrough on Saturday 10th December, 3pm kick-off.

Rob Edwards begins his Luton tenure at the Riverside Stadium and said he can't wait to feel the matchday buzz once again.

"I’ve missed that buzz of matchday. It was five or six weeks for me before this break, so I’m really looking forward to it. I think there’ll be a few butterflies and nerves. The first game is a big occasion, but I always have that anyway for every game."

The opposition:

Middlesbrough were on an upwards trajectory prior to the World Cup break, unbeaten in their last four matches with three of those being victories.

Life under manager Michael Carrick has proven to be rather enjoyable thus far, after a winning start against Hull City was followed by a point against Bristol City and two successive victories over Blackpool and Norwich City.

Chuba Akpom enjoyed a hot-streak in front of goal during those games and leads the way for Boro with eight goals in just 11 starts so far this season.

Middlesbrough are the joint-third highest scorers in the division and will look to pick up where they left off in front of their home supporters.

Last time we met:

Middlesbrough came out on top in the last meeting between the two sides, winning 2-1 at the Riverside Stadium.

Paddy McNair fired the hosts in front in the first half, before Duncan Watmore's late goal put the game beyond doubt despite Harry Cornick's late consolation in the final minute of added time.
