Luton Town Ladies booked their place the League Cup semi-final following a crushing 9-0 victory over Real Bedford Reserves on Sunday afternoon.
It took the Hatters just 13 minutes to open the scoring through Tasha Fensome. Jess McKay played a magnificent ball over the top of the defence which Fensome ran onto and lobbed the goalkeeper.
A few minutes later, creator turned scorer as McKay scored herself via an impressive free-kick. McKay stood over the ball, a few yards outside the area and curled her effort into the top left corner and past the rooted goalkeeper.
Just before the half-hour mark, Tsaianne Leander added Luton’s third. Amber Leighton played the ball into the feet of Leander who did well to turn her marker and finished excellently.
With five minutes to play of the first half, Fensome netted her second. Gabriella Spillman played the ball across the face of the goal for Fensome to tap in at the back post.
On the stroke of half-time it was five. Another pinpoint corner delivery from Fiona Buttigieg set up Wade to head the ball into the back of the net.
Just two minutes into the second half Shanice Lewis added Luton’s sixth. It was another assist for Buttigieg, who picked out her teammate in the box and on the turn she finished coolly past the keeper.
The scoring did not stop there as Caitlin O’Connor bagged her first ever Luton Town Ladies goal. A powerful run from Lewis down the right-hand side saw her set up O’Connor for an easy finish.
With 15 minutes to play Leander netted her second. McKay broke free on the right-hand side and found herself through on goal, but unselfishly, she set up Leander who comfortably finished into an open net.
Leander then completed her hat-trick with two minutes left. She was played one-on-one and was cool, calm and collected to chip the keeper to complete the scoring to make it 9-0.
