League Cup action returns to Barton on Sunday afternoon, as the Hatters Ladies host Hertford Town at Sharpenhoe Road (kick-off 2pm).
The Town will take on tier-6 opposition, Hertford Town in the second round of the Eastern Region Women’s League Cup on Sunday afternoon, hoping to set off on another memorable cup-campaign.
The Hatters, who have won seven in a row, keeping six clean sheets in the process, will look to build on their 2-0 Adobe Women’s FA Cup victory over St Albans City, which saw them progress to the first round proper.
The opposition
Hertford currently sit third in the Eastern Region Women’s Football League Division One South. They have yet to suffer defeat in the league this season, winning four of their opening five games.
The Blues fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat away at Watford Ladies Development last weekend in the Hertfordshire County Cup.
Hertford have an impressive record under head coach, Tom Carr, who after 50 games in charge has guided the Blues to 37 victories.
Our last League Cup campaign
The 2023/24 season produced another memorable cup run for the Hatters, who reached the semi-finals.
The cup run kicked off with an impressive 4-0 victory over Newmarket Town, goals from Dickens, Sanders, Khan and Maddix securing the victory.
After Grays Athletic were unable to field a team, Luton Ladies progressed to the quarter finals, where we defeated St Albans 3-0 thanks to a Buttigieg brace and a solo goal from Sanders.
Our cup run came to an end in the semi-final after a 2-1 defeat to Real Bedford, who went on to win the treble.
