Luton Town Ladies will be aiming to win their first piece of silverware this season when they take on Real Bedford Women in the County Cup Final on Thursday at Kenilworth Road.
Fresh off the back of a 3-1 win over Watford, which extended the Hatters’ winning streak to nine, the Town will be looking to lift the trophy on home turf against the Women’s National League Division One South-East leaders.
The opposition
Real Bedford now play a step above the Hatters in the women's football pyramid and have been an immovable force so far this season, winning 12 and drawing six of their 18 league games since their promotion from the ERWFL Premier Division last campaign.
The incredible run of form means that they have only fallen to defeat three times in their previous 40 league fixtures since the beginning of the 2023/24 season, with one of those being a 3-0 defeat against the Town at Barton.
The Pirates strolled through to the final, defeating Biggleswade Women 8-0 in their County Cup semi-final.
Not only are Charlie Bill’s side hard to keep out, they’re equally as hard to break down, conceding just once in their previous four games and only 11 in the league.
Last time at the Kenny
The Town love to put on a show for the Luton fans at Kenilworth Road. Last time out at the Kenny, they came out 6-1 victors against Bowers & Pitsea, a game which featured a fine display from Jess McKay, who netted four times. Elizabeth Sanders also found the net, whilst midfielder, Shianne Swarres scored her first goal for the club.
