The Town Ladies host Real Bedford in a League Cup quarter-final match at Barton Rovers this Sunday.
It has been a hugely successful start to 2025 for Luton Town Ladies who have won all three of their games, keeping a clean sheet in each. Last Sunday, they picked up three points in a 3-0 victory over Cambridge City.
The Hatters progressed through to the quarter-finals at the beginning of the month with a 1-0 victory over Watford Ladies Development.
The opposition
Real Bedford is a familiar name for to Luton Town Ladies due to the title race with their first team last campaign. The Pirates topped the league by six point in a season where they also won the League Cup and the County Cup.
After a mass exodus of their treble-winning squad, the Hatters picked up three players from their local rivals in the summer. Town’s top goalscorer, Tasha Fensome, number 1 Sarah Hudson and forward Cesca Partridge, all made the switch across Bedfordshire. January saw another player join the Hatters from Real Bedford, holding midfielder, Erin Price.
As for the team themselves, they sit sixth in the ERWFL Division One North table, winning five and losing six of their 11 league matches.
They are on a run of three straight defeats, losing to Newmarket Town, Biggleswade United and most recently, Harpenden Town.
They are captained by last season’s treble-winning captain, Zara Carroll, who is an ex-Hatter herself.
Last time out
The last time we faced Real Bedford was a midweek fixture at the backend of last season where the Town came out 3-0 winners at Barton thanks to goals from Amber Pearson, Shanice Lewis and Jess McKay.
A win that meant Luton were the only team in the league to keep a clean sheet against Real Bedford all season.
