Ladies eye League Cup final spot

The Hatters Ladies take on Royston on Sunday aiming to reach the final of the League Cup

Ladies win

After winning their sixth game in a row last Sunday, Luton Town Ladies’ attention turns to a massive battle at Barton in the League Cup semi-final against league leaders Royston Town.

A Shanice Lewis brace against Bowers & Pitsea last Sunday maintained the Hatters’ perfect start to 2025 that has seen them win six game in succession all without conceding.

The opposition

Royston have enjoyed a spectacular campaign so far this season. The Crows have suffered just two defeats across all competitions and been beaten only once in the league.

After 14 games in the league they have won 12 and only lost one, which was their last meeting with Luton at Barton.

The Town will be wary of Crows star forward Emma Slater who has scored 26 goals in 20 games across all competitions for Royston this season.

Royston have only failed to score once In all competitions this season, the game in which they failed score was their 1-0 defeat to the Hatters.

The Crows currently lead the league by 10 points with the Hatters back in second with four games in hand.

Last time out

The last meeting between the sides was one to remember as far as the Hatters are concerned. Luton came out 1-0 victors in the first versus second clash, making amends for the 3-2 loss on the opening day.

Amber Leighton’s first-half goal was the difference in the game – a moment which one half of Town’s co-managerial duo described as: “my favourite moment of the season so far”.

Back the Town at Barton

This game promises to be a classic and the Hatters need your support for one of their toughest games thus far.

Kick-off at Barton's Sharpenhoe Road ground is at 1.30pm this Sunday.
