Injury and suspension giving manager selection dilemma ahead of Friday

Rob Edwards will give as much time as possible to see whether a number of the Town squad carrying injuries will be fit to face West Bromwich Albion on Friday night.

The Hatters manager said that defender Teden Mengi and midfielder Shandon Baptiste are the closest to a return for the meeting with the Baggies.

However, the Town are likely to be without Amari’i Bell, Reece Burke and Mads Andersen as the defensive trio continue to nurse themselves back to fitness.

Edwards faces an added dilemma in defence with both Alfie Doughty and Tom Holmes suspended for Friday’s Championship clash under the lights at Kenilworth Road.

“It’s not looking great,” admitted the manager at his pre-match press conference. “But we’ll give as much time as possible to make a call.
