Luton Town Ladies host Haringey Borough in league action on Sunday afternoon at Sharpenhoe Road, looking to secure back-to-back three points.

Last Sunday, the Hatters picked up a massive three points when we defeated league leaders Royston Town through Amber Leighton’s first half strike.

Whereas Haringey were involved in an action packed 4-3 defeat to relegation candidates Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers, losing the game in the 90th minute after Antonia Nash’s strike found the back of the net.

The opposition

Haringey Borough sit sixth in the league table after 10 games, conceding 29 goals thus far this season, the third highest in the division.

High scoring games are guaranteed with Haringey, they have scored just as many goals as they have conceded, their last two wins have been by a 3-2 scoreline.

The last meeting between the two sides saw a dominant 4-1 away victory for the Hatters. Haringey took the lead after 7 minutes, via a direct free kick.

Luton equalised through Leighton on the stroke of half-time before Tasha Fensome converted a penalty to complete the turnaround before the break.

Debutant Carla Todd extended Luton’s lead five minutes into the second half after she skipped past multiple defenders and poked the ball past the goalkeeper.

The game was wrapped up with seven minutes to play as Elly Wade added the fourth when Fiona Buttigieg’s corner was converted by the skipper.
