Good decisions to make – Rob

Town boss Rob Edwards says he has “good decisions” to make with Alfie Doughty and Tom Holmes returning from suspension for the visit of Cardiff on Wednesday.

Edwards was also happy to report that Amari’i Bell, Teden Mengi and Shandon Baptiste all came through last Friday’s 1-1 draw with West Brom meaning the Hatters are nearing full strength ahead of the meeting with the in-form Bluebirds.

“Those who were involved last week are fine, but we’ll see how they are because now we’ve got them back we want them to stay back,” said the boss.

“We still have got a couple out – Mads Andersen and Reece Burke – but they’ll be back soon.

“We just need to make the right decisions but we got some good decisions to make which is great and helps, especially in the period coming up with games coming in quick succession.”

Visiting Cardiff have lifted themselves off the bottom of the Championship and into 17th place following a run of four wins and two draws from their past six games.

And Edwards knows the Hatters face a stern test against Omer Riza’s side.

“That’s the Championship – it’s a mad league,” laughed the manager. “They come here in great form.

“I know Omer from my time at the FA and Watford and they will represent a really difficult test. They’re playing with confidence and have lots of good individuals. They are playing well with and without the ball and are have a good identity.”

The Hatters have taken four points from their last three homes and Edwards is hoping his side can continue their encouraging form at Kenilworth Road.

“We’ve won, lost and drawn our last three and we’ve dominated all three,” said the boss. “We want to try and have the same impact and get into the same areas on Wednesday, and, of course, score more goals than the opposition.

“There’s a level of consistency there, a good feel around the place and the lads have trained well.”
