We are pleased to confirm a number of new additions and promotions within the first team football staff at Luton Town as part of the Club’s continued progression ahead of the 2024/25 season.
On Rob Edwards’ coaching team, former Hatters midfielder Kevin Foley has made the step up from transition coach, a role in which he spent last season overseeing the young players bridging the gap from development to senior football, to become first team coach.
The 39-year-old returned to his hometown club last summer after 16 years away, bringing with him experience of gaining promotion from the Championship with Wolves before playing in the Premier League for the Midlands club, as well as winning eight caps for the Republic of Ireland.
We welcome a new head of medical, Danny Murphy (pictured below), with club stalwart Simon Parsell continuing his Luton Town career into a 15th campaign in a new role as medical co-ordinator.
Danny is vastly experienced having worked at club level with Chelsea’s academy, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Charlton Athletic and Newcastle United. He also spent five years working for the Football Association, including two spells with England Under-21s, as well as a year as a consultant for an individual player in La Liga.
Simon, who arrived from Rushden & Diamonds in 2010 and has played a crucial role in our rise from Non-League to the Premier League, remains at the core of a department that he has led so diligently, with Chris Phillips now becoming head physiotherapist as he enters his eighth season with the club, and Ollie Sharples moving up from the academy to first team physio.

On the analysis team we welcome two new members joining Simon Dunn, who is embarking on his 11th season with the Hatters.
Joe Stephenson arrives as first team analyst, having spent the past two seasons in the Championship as Middlesbrough’s opposition analyst.
Joe (pictured below) has previously worked at Wolves as loans and recruitment analyst, having started in the Molineux academy as an intern, and also as Swansea’s head of academy analysis.
Joining the Club as first team performance analysis assistant is Chloe Golding, who spent last season on an internship with Championship play-off winners Southampton.
Chloe (pictured below) started out on the analysis team at Gloucester City, spending six years with the National League North club, before a six-month spell with Bristol City’s academy.
The Club’s performance department has a new addition with Josh Hornby arriving from Charlton to play an integral role as head of sports science.
Josh (pictured below) started his football career in 2012 at The Valley – where he worked with Hatters head of performance Jared Roberts-Smith – progressing from an initial internship through a range of roles to become head of physical performance for the past seven seasons.
Alongside Jared, Josh joins a team featuring sports scientist Jake Scott and assistant strength and power coach Archie Johnson, with a new lead S&P coach to be appointed.
While we offer a warm welcome to the Luton Town family to Danny, Joe, Chloe and Josh, we have said goodbye to some members of staff who have served the Club so well in recent years.
This summer we have bid farewell to set piece coach Alan McCormack, analyst coach Andrew Findlay, lead strength and power coach Elliott Plant and sports scientist Luke Sanders.
Along with Alan, both Elliott and Luke have each made valuable contributions to the team’s success in rising from League Two to the Premier League since they first arrived at Kenilworth Road in the summer of 2017.
Andrew joined last year as we built for the Premier League, and he has returned to Norway to resume his role with the Norwegian FA.
We wish each of them the very best in their next roles and thank them for their service over several years at Kenilworth Road, where they will always be welcome.
