A Tasha Fensome brace helped the Town Ladies to see off Cambridge City 3-0 on Sunday.

After winning their first two games of 2025, the Hatters faced league action for the first time of the year when they hosted bottom of the league Cambridge City.

In tough weather conditions, Town looked to get off to a quick start. Amber Leighton’s smart ball in behind the defence picked out Jess McKay who saw her shot saved at the near post.

At the other end, Cambridge were played through on goal forcing Sarah Hudson into a good save down to her right.

On the half-hour, the Hatters took the lead. A Fiona Buttigieg corner was parried into the direction of Fensome who tapped the ball home from close range to claim her 50th goal in Luton colours.

Ten minutes into the second half Fensome had the ball in the back of the net but the referee called the game back for an injury off the ball which she originally played on from.

However, on the hour Fensome score her second – a bullet header from another pinpoint Buttigieg corner.

With 20 to play Leyah Maddix added the third of the afternoon to seal victory. Her low driven ball towards the goal found its way underneath the Cambridge keeper just two minutes after her introduction.

Town: Hudson, Wade, Farmer, Price, Buttigieg, Swarres, Leighton, McKay, Lewis, Spillman, Fensome.

Subs: Maddix, Leander, Blacksleg, Tucker.
