CLUB STAFF SLEEPOVER FOR SIGNPOSTS

Colleagues from Luton Town Football Club will be spending a night sleeping over at Kenilworth Road on Friday night, to help raise funds and awareness of the Club Charity of the Year – homeless charity Signposts.

The group will be swapping the comfort of their own homes and beds for the cold floors of the ground in solidarity with people living homelessly in Luton, and raising money in the process.

“The idea came about at the beginning of the partnership as we started making plans with the Club for activities this season”, said Phyl Rainey, the charity’s Head of Community, Partnerships and Innovation. “We all thought it would be a good way to try and highlight the issue of homelessness, and shining a light on the work we do at Signposts to support homeless people in Luton and we’re grateful to the Club for getting involved”, she added.

Phyl and her team will also be holding a sleepover at their new HQ not far from the Club, near Dallow Road.

Ed Smith, Marketing Manager at Luton Town said “Everyone at the Club is enjoying working with Phyl and her team at Signposts this year, and we’re only too happy to spend a night sleeping over at Kenilworth Road if it helps to raise some money for them.

“The work they do to provide emergency housing for people who would otherwise be on the streets is inspiring – especially at this time of year. We met some of their clients on a visit to their services in October, and their ‘Team SP’ project, which helps homeless people to re-engage with the community through volunteering projects is in some ways even more important as it helps to break the negative cycle that often leads to homelessness in the first place.”

We’d be very grateful to any supporters who would make a small donation to help our fundraising. Simply click the link below and donate whatever you can afford.
