In the mist of being placed in administrative receivership for the majority of the season, the Hatters accrued more points than in the previous campaign, finishing 10th in the second division.

Victory against the Robins somewhat reignited their play-off push at the time, but it was too little too late with defeats against Wrexham and Chesterfield in the following matches.

Nevertheless, it was a memorable encounter for the 7,000 supporters inside Kenilworth Road who witnessed Steve Howard give Luton the lead after 26 minutes.

It was two approaching the hour mark thanks to Emmerson Boyce before Christian Roberts halved the deficit for the away side.

The Robins looked to have sealed a comeback when Danny Coles headed home Brian Tinnion’s corner in injury time but there would be an even later twist in the tale.

With his first senior goal, Keith Keane stole all three points back for the Hatters, causing pandemonium amongst the home supporters!
