The 28-year-old has had a tough start to life in his second spell at Kenilworth Road due to a calf injury that has kept him out of the team since September. Though thanks to the work from the medical staff, he was able to make a big impact when it mattered to seal all three points for the Hatters.

The goal itself, was a finish of the highest quality but the striker was keen to pass the credit after a dramatic Boxing Day finale.

“I signed in the summer and I had limited game-time before my injury. I got in the team against Blackburn, managed to win and then we had the international break. I got a bad injury in my soleus which put me out for three months and I was obviously devastated because I thought it was my time to get in the team but I’ve worked really hard.

“The physios should take a lot of credit because they worked really hard with me, and the fitness team, to get me back and what a way to repay them today, which is why I went over to the dugout with them to celebrate all together. That is what it’s about.

“The lads worked so hard all game,” he continued. “Norwich are a good team to be fair and obviously when it fell to me I’m just delighted it went in.”

The Luton number 10 is now hoping to continue making his mark on the time and steer clear of any further injuries, revealing the tough times he has faced on the sidelines.

“It’s difficult when you’re injured because you just want to be involved, you want to be helping the team, with the lads but you’re so separate. You’re on different timings at the training ground, you’re working on your own a lot at the gym and it’s a lonely place at times but I’m just delighted to be back and hopefully we can all kick on now and build on today.”

Woodrow also extended his delight for new manager Rob Edwards who earned his first win in front of the Luton Town faithful.

“Nathan [Jones] brought me to the club but now Rob is here. Working for the last few weeks, he’s been excellent so I’m excited to work with him. You can see he’s a great guy already, he works really hard, get’s his point across really well and I’m really pleased for him tonight that he can get his first three points for the club. We managed to do that for him and hopefully we can kick on now like I said.”
