Boro before the break

Our official preview for Middlesbrough away

riverside

Luton Town head to the North East for a Saturday lunchtime kick-off at Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Rob Edwards’ Hatters will look to go into the November international break on a high and back up the win against Cardiff City in midweek.

Michael Carrick’s Boro have had a rollercoaster start to the season, following up defeat against Coventry City by battering QPR 4-1 at Loftus Road.

The opposition

Middlesbrough got off to the perfect start when the season began in August, beating Swansea City in the league and Leeds United away in the Carabao Cup without conceding.

Since then, consistency in results has been hard to come by for Carrick’s side, yet Boro still sit one point outside the play-off spots.

The player to look out for is Tommy Conway. The 22-year-old signed this summer from Bristol City and has three goals in his last three games.

Last time out

The Hatters took all three points on Wednesday night when we hosted Cardiff City at Kenilworth Road.

Jacob Brown rose highest in the penalty box and headed in Alfie Doughty’s corner for his second goal of the season.

Team news

It will be too soon for Alfie Doughty to be available for this game after picking up an ankle injury in stoppage time on Wednesday night.

Reece Burke is progressing well but is unlikely to be available for our trip to the Riverside.

Mads Andersen and Reuell Walters remain out for this fixture.

Last time we met

Middlesbrough left Kenilworth Road empty handed the last time we faced Saturday’s opponents.

Cameron Archer opened the scoring in the first half before Tom Lockyer and Carlton Morris completed the turnaround after the break.
