Battle with the Bluebirds

Our official preview for Cardiff City at home

krrrr

Luton Town are back under the Kenilworth Road lights as we host Cardiff City in the Sky Bet Championship on Wednesday night.

Rob Edwards’ Hatters will look to build towards a win after another positive home performance against West Bromwich Albion last Friday.

Omer Riza is the interim boss and has turned Cardiff’s form around since taking charge after Erol Bulut was sacked in September.

The opposition

Cardiff had a tough start to the season, going winless in the first seven league games and conceding 17 goals.

However, there has been a rapid improvement under new interim manager Riza, who has now guided the Bluebirds to four wins and two draws in their last six games.

One player who has benefited from Riza’s management is striker Callum Robinson, who has found the net three times in his last four matches.

Last time out

The Hatters had to settle for a point when West Bromwich Albion visited Kenilworth Road on Friday night.

Tahith Chong’s equaliser on the hour-mark cancelled out Josh Maja’s creative flick, which gave the visitors the lead in first half stoppage time.

Team news

Alfie Doughty and Tom Holmes are both available for selection again after serving their one-match bans on Friday night.

Teden Mengi, Amari’i Bell and Shandon Baptiste returned to action last Friday and got through without injury.

Reece Burke, Mads Andersen and Reuell Walters remain out.

Words from Rob

“Omer has come in and done great. He’s a really good coach, I know him well from my time at the FA and Watford, it’s good to see him doing well.

“Cardiff will be a really difficult test. They’re playing with a lot of confidence and have a lot of good individual players and a nice style of play with and without the ball.

“They have a real identity at the moment so it will be a tough game.”

Last time we met

Elijah Adebayo proved to be the difference maker when we last hosted Cardiff City at Kenilworth Road.

Our magic man, who had a penalty saved by Ryan Allsop in the second half, secured the three points after he headed in from close range with two minutes to play.

How to follow live

There are multiple ways to watch, listen or follow all the action from Kenilworth Road.

Subject to availability, there are tickets still available to be with us on the night. These are on general sale to supporters with a previous purchase history before 1st October and all Hatters members.

If you cannot join us and are following from overseas, you can watch the game live on LTFC+.

Not at Kenilworth Road and not based abroad? You can still listen to the match live with Simon Pitts or follow game updates on our dedicated Match Centre, which will appear on the website and app home page in the build-up to kick-off.
