All roads lead to Leeds

Our official match preview for Leeds United away

elland

Luton Town have a double-header on the road which starts in Yorkshire as we visit Elland Road to face Leeds United on Wednesday night (7.45pm GMT).

Rob Edwards’ Hatters have won back-to-back home matches but have struggled on our travels, with four points taken from the first seven away fixtures.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds are on a run of five consecutive wins on home soil as the Whites’ away win at Swansea City on Sunday moved them to the Championship summit.

Team news

Amari’i Bell is back in contention after picking up a knock during international duty with Jamaica, while Jordan Clark returns to availability as he has served his one-match ban.

Reece Burke, Shandon Baptiste and Tom Krauß were substituted during Saturday’s win against Hull City but have been passed fit for Wednesday night.

The opposition

Leeds United have put their rocky start to the season behind them as they challenge Sunderland and Sheffield United for the top spot in the Championship.

Back-to-back league draws, with a shock 3-0 home defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup between them, was far from the ideal start before Farke’s side turned the tide.

Four clean sheets from five games followed and the Yorkshire side have lost just once since August, moving to the top of the league after their dramatic 4-3 win at Swansea.

Leeds have scored more goals at home than any other Championship side and top scorer Joël Piroe has scored in both of his last two games at Elland Road.

Last time out

We got back to winning ways last weekend as we secured our second home win in a row with victory against Hull.

Mark McGuinness smashed in his first Luton goal and that was enough to take all three points in the pouring rain.

How to follow live

There are multiple ways to watch, listen or follow all the action from Elland Road.

Subject to availability, there are tickets still available to be with us on the night. These are on general sale to supporters with a previous purchase history and all Hatters members until 11am on Wednesday.

There will be no tickets available at Elland Road on the night and tickets will need to be collected from the Luton Town ticket office.

If you cannot join us and are following from overseas, you can watch the game live on LTFC+.

Not at Elland Road and not based abroad? You can still listen to the match live with Simon Pitts or follow game updates on our dedicated Match Centre, which will appear on the website and app home page in the build-up to kick-off.

Last time we met

We took home a massive point towards our Championship survival in 2019/20 when we shared the spoils at Elland Road during lockdown.

Harry Cornick’s curler on the counter-attack was the perfect start to the second half and we secured a point despite Stuart Dallas’ leveller.

Officials

The referee for our fixture against Leeds United will be Sam Allison.

60 yellow cards and no red cards have been handed out by Allison across his 11 games this season.

This will be the first Luton game Allison has refereed this season. The first Premier League fixture of his refereeing career was our win at Sheffield United on Boxing Day 2023.

Referee: Sam Allison

Assistant Referees: Andrew Fox & Darren Williams

Fourth Official: Tom Reeves
