Meet the newest additions to the Town’s youth team

scholars join 24/25

The Club and the Academy are delighted to confirm and congratulate nine players who have signed first-year scholarships to join the Hatters’ Under-18s.

Benedict Benagr

Luton-born left-sided defender who has been a part of the Hatters academy since he was six years old. A regular for the under-18s last season, he has already featured in the Town development squad.

In his own words: “Fast, powerful, left-footed, direct.”

Charlie Booth

Luton-born goalkeeper who previously played for Luton Nations and Luton Sporting before joining the Hatters academy as an eight-year-old.

In his own words: “I take pride in my communication skills helping to organise my team in front of me. I am comfortable with the ball at my feet and like to look to play out when I can. My biggest strength is my technical ability with my hands as I am very co-ordinated allowing me to make saves look good. I would also say I am quick around my goal allowing me to make more saves due to moving well.”

Christian Chigozie

Centre-half who was born in Zaragoza before his family moved to the UK as a youngster. Joined the Town academy as an under-7 and impressed the first team coaching staff enough to be included on the substitutes’ bench twice in the Premier League last season as a 16-year-old.”

Harry Fox

Luton-born player who can operate in central midfield or at left-back who has been in the Hatters’ academy set-up since the under-8 level.

In his own words: “I am a hardworking and composed footballer who can play in many positions. I like to be a team player and lead by example. On the pitch I like to celebrate my small wins as well as my big wins and I love to score a goal or pick up an assist.”

Samuel Hincapie-Alfonso

Colombian-born striker or winger who arrived in the UK as a nine-year-old, Samuel joined the Town academy at under-16 level.

In his own words: “I am extremely humble, physical, very hard working with the correct mentality/mindset. I’m willing to press until the very last whistle and win back possession for the team. I would describe myself as a technical striker who is direct when approaching defenders and a high-pressing, mobile, energetic sprinter with an eye for goal. I’m quite a diverse striker as I can drop and link with teammates, allowing them to join in with counterattacks, I make runs in behind and I can take defenders one-v-one.”

Kyron Roberts-Edema

Versatile Luton-born Kyron is capable of playing in various defensive positions, either at right-back, right wing-back or at centre-half. Joined the Town academy as an under-10.

In his own words: “I’m hardworking and have a lot of desire and passion when I play.”

Enoch Sampson

Centre-back or left-back Enoch joined the Hatters academy set-up this summer.

In his own words: “I am a strong aggressive player and open to adapting and learning. I love to be involved in matches and make a good impact on the team and my teammates, but I dislike holding myself and my teammates back in both training and games.”

Archie Shepherd

Basildon-born Archie joined the Hatters as an under-16. A midfielder or attacking midfielder who can operate in the centre or on the left, he has been on the books of several Premier League London clubs.

In his own words: “Skilful, exciting like to express myself in the attacking third. My biggest strength is going at defenders one-on-one as I’m skilful and have good agility to change direction.”

Lucas Thomas

Bedford-born goalkeeper who has been with the Hatters since joining the academy as an under-10.

In his words: “I am a person with a good attitude who likes to learn from their errors and mistakes. I am nervous quite a lot which makes me play better. I’m good at being a goalkeeper and hope to push on to first team.”
