The Town's reserves came from a goal down to beat Southend United 3-1 in their final fixture of the totesport.com Combination campaign.
In a match played at Barton Rovers, Taiwo Atieno, JJ O'Donnell and Alex Lacey were on target to ensure the Hatters' second string's fifth win in their last six outings.
First team coach Kevin Watson said afterwards: "All the players did really well on a difficult pitch with both the senior pros and young players applying themselves terrifically.
"Taiwo led the line superbly up front on his own, bringing others into play and deservely got himself on the scoresheet.
"Alex capped another confident display at centre-half with a goal but a special mention goes to Craig Nelthorpe.
"He can't play in the play-off games against York but showed an excellent attitude and that showed in his performance."
