A single goal by Wycombe's Ashley Chambers condemned the Town to their second straight defeat in the totesport.com Combination.

The Wanderers' striker netted in the 20th minute when he took advantage of a slip by Town defender Alex Lacey to run goalwards and guide a deflected effort beyond goalkeeper Shane Gore.

Despite fielding a number of players with first team experience the Hatters were slow into their stride and it took them until the hour mark to register their first meaningful effort on goal when Kevin Watson went close with a shot from outside the penalty area.

The Chairboys continued to dominate proceedings as the visitors struggled to create any clear-cut chances, and Gore had to be alert late on to deny Lewis Montrose and Jerome Federico from extending the hosts' lead.
