RESERVES EARN DRAW AT WYCOMBE

Posted on: Thu 09 Apr 2009

A goal eight minutes from time from Wycombe's Calum Botham denied the Hatters' reserves from claiming their second victory in two days in the totesport.com Combination.

It looked as though the young Town side had done enough to deny the Chairboys until Botham rose highest in the penalty area to nod Nathan Ashton's cross past Aaron Fletcher.

The Hatters had led thanks to Jack Wood's 41st minute goal after the youngster poked home from close range at the back post following trialist Ross Outon's cross.

Town will look back at missing a huge chance just before the hour mark to double their lead when Aidan Quinn shot high and wide after being found by Scott Sinclair.

Wanderers upped the ante after getting back on level terms and the Hatters had to thank Fletcher for keeping the scores level with a smart save on 84 minutes to keep out an Ashton shot from 25 yards.
