Paul McVeigh grabbed a brace as Luton's reserve side strolled to a comfortable 4-1 win over Stevenage Borough at Kenilworth Road.
In a game which saw Sam Parkin come through 45 minutes, Luton reserves opened the scoring on 19 minutes when Don Hutchison fired home a volley from six yards after Stevenage goalkeeper James Russell failed to collect a McVeigh corner.
The Hatters had plenty more chances before McVeigh grabbed his first on 40 minutes, heading into an empty net after Rob Sinclair had put the ball back into a dangerous area when Dean Morgan's cross reached him at the back post.
Luton added a third on 43 minutes when, after Parkin slipped out a pass to Sinclar on the wing, the midfielder whipped over a beautifully weighted cross that was dispatched by the oncoming run of McVeigh.
Luton made the perfect start to the second-half when some good work down the left by McVeigh saw the ball reach Morgan in the centre and he displayed some fine work to bring down the cross on his chest and fire and half volley past the despairing dive of Russell.
The Hatters continued to dominate the game, but couldn't add to their tally. It looked as if the home-side would keep a clean sheet until Stevenage grabbed a late consolation through a Damian Batt penalty after defender Liam McDevitt was sent tumbling in the penalty area under a challenge from Ed Asafu-Adjaye.
Luton: Beresford, Jackson, Emanuel, Robinson, Hutchison, Asafu-Adjaye, Sinclair, O'Leary, Parkin (Harrison-Barker 46), Morgan, McVeigh.
