Richard Jackson, one of nine summer signings made by Kevin Blackwell prior to the start of the season, had a distinguished career at Derby County. The full-back was the longest serving player at Pride Park prior to completing a signing a two year deal at Kenilworth Road. Jackson joined Derby in March 1999 from Scarborough after playing only 24 senior games for the Seaside club. He made a few Premiership appearances for Derby before he made more of a breakthrough in 2002/03. He became a more permanent player in the side the following year. Jackson was hampered by injuries in the 2004/05 season, but still remained a popular figure at Pride Park. He started five games last season before being released from his contract this summer.
