Hatters boss Richard Money is hoping his players can pick themselves up off the floor following last week's disappointing home defeat to Ebbsfleet United and go on a run to give them a shot at promotion.
The defeat to Liam Daish's Fleet left the Town manager at his lowest ebb in a professional career stretching back 38 years.
But despite that "kick in the teeth", Money is looking for a positive reaction from his squad as they travel the 512-mile round-trip to face Darren Sheridan and ex-Hatters David Bayliss's Barrow on Saturday.
Talking to lutontown.co.uk before the team set-off on Friday morning he said: "Saturday was a real disappointment, but it's always how you react from it: that's the most important thing.
"You've got to remember that before we lost last week we had played seven league games since I took over the club and picked up 14 points.
"Saturday was a real kick in the teeth for everybody, for me especially. I had never felt so down in my career.
"People seem to have forgotten we have won the previous three games.
"If you can get an average of two points per game then that's going to put us right up there.
"Three points would have put the top three within reach but we've got to put that game out of our minds and concentrate on getting back on track at Barrow."
With 20 matches still to play and games in hand on most of their promotion rivals above them in the Blue Square Premier the Hatters chief isn't getting worried just yet.
"There's no need to panic just yet," he said. "We need to go on another run, starting tomorrow.
"We were on a good run before last Saturday's result and we need to go on another one.
"Mind you it won't be easy tomorrow. Barrow went across to Sunderland and given them a game in the FA Cup and they've been a problem to most teams in the division.
"It was tight game when they played down here, its really up to what we do on the day."
Although the Hatters' form on the road has been far superior to that at Kenilworth Road (they haven't been beaten in the league on their travels since the 3-0 thrashing at Wrexham in September) it's complacency that the Town boss wants to guard against the most.
He said: "People do seem to forget that we are a Conference team and we need to realise we are where we are.
"We are Luton Town and teams want to beat us.
"The sooner people realise that whether we play Ebbsfleet or Oxford it makes no difference.
"Last Saturday may have been a prime example where we complacency may have crept in because we had won the last three and were at home to a team near the bottom of the table.
"We can't afford to think like that again."
On the injury front the manager revealed that goalkeeper Mark Tyler could make his long-awaited return to first team action.
The stopper hasn't featured between the sticks for the Hatters since the 2-0 home reverse to Rushden & Diamonds on 31st October.
Kevin Pilkington has returned to parent club Notts County for treatment on a groin injury sustained in last Saturday's loss.
It means the Money will choose between Tyler or Shane Gore.
"We have two fine goalkeepers who will be available for this weekend," he said.
"Mark has got to get himself into a game situation and we will do that when I think it's right for him to do it."
Striker Kevin Gallen (knee) and defender Shane Blackett (groin) remain sidelined while Ed Asafu-Adjaye hasn't trained all week after picking up a knock having come on as a second half substitute against Ebbsfleet.
Money is however hopeful that Claude Gnakpa has recovered sufficiently enough from injury to be passed fit for the game in Cumbria.
