With the game against Salisbury in the balance due to the state of the Kenilworth Road pitch, Hatters boss Richard Money believes the club - and his players - have done everything physically possible to prepare for the match.

"We're hopeful it's on," Money said at his Friday afternoon press conference. "As a club we have done all we can to get it on.

"The players manfully cleared the pitch of snow on Thursday. The whole squad chipped in which is important - the covers are off and it's now completely clear.

"The temperature is meant to warm-up so hopefully it will be enough for it to go ahead but the forecast of heavy rain overnight could cause us a problem too."

The inclement weather has not only disrupted the Town's scheduled of matches in the Blue Square Premier but also caused havoc to the player's training regime.

But that hasn't deterred the Hatters.

"We went to Reading to train at their indoor facility earlier this week," Money explained.

"We've worked extremely hard since the Southampton game.

"I don't think there is another club in this division that has worked has hard as us.

"We've trained outside to the best we can. We played 30 minutes on the snow this morning at the training ground.

"We've been running in the snow and doing as much physical activity as possible to boost our fitness.

"It's not been easy but all we can do is prepare the best we can given the circumstances. We've just got to get on with it."

Turning his attentions to the visit of a Salisbury City side currently 18th place in the Blue Square Premier, Money warned of the threat of Tommy Widdrington's side who would only be six points behind the Town if it wasn't for a 10-point deduction.

"Give them the points back and they're not far behind us," he said. "Some peoples' perspectives can be false.

"They are very useful outfit and you'll find that in the second half of the season most teams will be having something to play for.

"Matches will become tougher and we need to be mindful of every team we face."

Money then confirmed reports that Alan White, Kevin Gallen and Kevin Nicholls had been placed on transfer list, with White joining Darlington on-loan until the rest of the season.

The Town boss explained that the decisions were not an easy one and were based partly on the financial constraints of the club.

"We've circulated their names making them available for transfer," Money said.

"We have to be mindful of the purse strings and the fact we lost income from two matches over Christmas and could lose another one on Saturday.

"People think there seems to be a bottomless pit of money available at this club.

"That was partially the reason but also because we thought there might be an obvious interest in one of them.

"It was a difficult decision to make but that was my recommendation to the board as the right thing to do.

"In the case of Kevin Gallen, we've got Matthew Barnes-Homer, Mark Nwokeji, Tom Craddock and Liam Hatch vying for the striker positions.

"We have an abundance of riches up front but I am not suggesting he will go anywhere at all.

"It's the same with Kevin Nicholls - we have a lot of midfield players at this club.

"However, Kevin Nicholls made it perfectly clear in a private meeting that he doesn't want to leave this Football Club.

"He loves this Football Club.

"I couldn't be more impressed with his reaction to what's been said to him."

Meanwhile Money also revealed that Keith Keane has also been transfer listed after he rejected an offer of a new contract.

The 23-year-old's current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
