Having lost to Gillingham during the week, manager Mick Harford knows his players are in for a difficult time and will now have to win every game starting with Saturday's fixture against Northampton Town.

"We've got some tough games ahead of us and we know it is going to be hard," reflected Harford to lutontown.co.uk as he considered his side's run-in. "Northampton are mid-table and only seven points off the play-offs, so they'll be striving for the victory to try and edge closer to the top six.

"It might be a big ask for them to squeeze into it now, but it will be a tough game up there.

"I saw them play against Forest recently and they're a good outfit.

"Stuart Gray is a well respected manager and has got them well organized."

But Harford still believes that his team have the ability to stave off relegation.

He added: "The players are aware that they have to win every game, but we got ourselves into this and we need to get ourselves out of it.

"For the second or third time in a row we've played the same team and they are starting to get familiar with each other which can only be good.

"My philosophy is if we believe a player is ready then they will be given the opportunity to play."

Harford is hoping a good crowd will make the short trip up the motorway for the match and he was keen to point out how impressed he has been with the supporters commitment in the current climate.

"The fans have been great," Harford commented. "They've travelled with us far and wide and there are a lot of long journeys in this league.

"I take my hat off to all the fans given the situation we find ourselves in."
