Huddersfield Town's caretaker manager Gerry Murphy is preparing his side for the final time before they travel to Luton on Saturday. He will stand aside after the match to allow new manager Stan Ternent to take over the Galpharm Stadium hotseat.

"It's been left to me this week," Murphy explained to Huddersfield's official website when questioned as to who will be picking the side for the game. "Graham Mitchell has been away in Torino completing some work for his Academy Manager's licence, so I've brought in Chris Howarth (Town's under-16 manager) to help me. It's been exactly the same as with previous weeks, but the players were away at the Club's Golf Day on Wednesday. That was nice for them, although I don't think they won anything.

"It was nice to be asked to continue until the end of the season because we've got a momentum going. We'll try to continue that and finish on a winning note and we'll try to end the season on a high in order to send the fans away for the closed season with a smile on their face.

"Stan and Ronnie have enough on their plate preparing for next season and they've been in every day working hard on that side of things. They felt it was fitting for us to continue the work that we have done in the four previous weeks.

"We want to keep our run going. The players have been absolutely magnificent; they're on a high and they want to finish on a winning note. Everything we've done this week has been geared towards going to Luton and getting three points.

"When we went to Port Vale, I said it would be our hardest game and it proved to be so. I think Luton will be just as hard, as a lot of their lads are playing for their future as well as pride. They will want to go out on a high, because there will be people having a look at them.

"There's pressure on our lads too, as they know the manager will be there. Having said that, they knew that last weekend too and they did very well because they are true professionals. They have a great attitude and they will go out and give it their best shot."
