A "proud" Richard Money hailed the performance of his side despite seeing the Hatters fall to a last-gasp defeat in their play-off semi-final first leg against York City.
Richard Brodie's goal a minute from time gives the Minstermen an advantage going into Monday's second leg at Kenilworth Road.
But the Town boss believes if they replicate the same kind of performance in four days time then they'll have no worries when having home advantage.
"All you want from your players going to the play-offs is them to be in form and go on and give a performance and they've certainly done that tonight, by god they've performed tonight," he said afterwards,
"I've said to them in the dressing room if we play as well as that on Monday we'll be happy.
"Of course we're disappointed. Brodie's had one kick and scored and Shane Blackett's made one mistake and it's cost him.
"But we'll rally and, like I say, we're hoping for more of the same on Monday.
"If the game had finished 0-0 it would have been the one of best 0-0s I would have seen in my life.
"Both teams gave no quarter and slugged it out - it was a fantastic advert for the Blue Square and it would have graced League 1 in my opinion.
Money refused to get downbeat despite seeing his side spurn a number of chances and confidently looked ahead to the second leg.
"After the result tonight York will fill their end at Kenilworth Road so it's going to be a full house.
"We're looking forward to it, it's well in the balance.
"I just want us to play as well as we have tonight.
"I want 8,500 Luton supporters to see how well we played tonight but on Monday.
"I'm sure they'll be disappointed but on reflection I think they will know that we've done everything we could to have to have won tonight but that's the way it goes sometimes."
