Frustrated Hatters boss Richard Money admitted he could not believe his side were on the wrong end of another defeat at Kenilworth Road after losing 2-1 to AFC Wimbledon.
Despite dominating the match for long spells the Town were punished in the 67th-minute when Danny Kedwell finished well from an acute to earn the Wombles all three points.
And the Hatters manager said afterwards that despite their fifth home reverse of the campaign he was still proud of the shift his players put in.
"I'm disappointed with the result like everyone else but I am absolutely thrilled with the performance," he said afterwards. "I thought we were fantastic today.
"There have been times at home this season when the performances have meant supporters have been critical but I don't think that should be the case today.
"I don't know what more you can do to win a game of football apart from the obvious.
"I've said to the players in the dressing room that I don't want anyone in there walking away from today with their heads down.
"I thought we outstanding and I am proud of them.
"We're in good form and we've got nothing to fear and based on that performance we certainly don't have a complex at playing at home.
"But we'll pick ourselves up from this and go again on Tuesday - don't worry about that."
On Friday the Hatters chief explained that the Dons would be a tough nut to crack and, although he was proved right, Money was still happy to have seen his side give Terry Brown's outfit the run-around despite ultimately landing up on the losing side.
"I genuinely felt that they are playing the best football of any other team in the division at the moment," he said.
"They had a go at us when they could and they were a threat, there's no doubt about that.
"I would argue though that we made one of the best teams in the division look very ordinary.
"They scored with their first attack and in the second half they only had one shot at goal.
"The game was a lot more open today than other matches recently and that was down to the opposition.
"But we passed and moved off the ball well for 90 minutes on a nightmare of a pitch but despite the defeat we've still taken 20 points from the last 10 games.
"It's disappointing obviously but I am chuffed with the performance - there were some very encouraging signs.
"We've got to bounce back.
"One thing I do know about this group of players is that when get knocked down they keep coming back stronger and stronger.
"I know we're playing well and that's very pleasing and very heartening."
