Hatters boss Richard Money hailed his side's continued professionalism as they chalked up their eighth win in nine away games and kept a seventh consecutive clean sheet on the road in the process following the 1-0 win at Eastbourne Borough.
Asa Hall's fine strike from the edge of the penalty area was the difference at Priory Lane as the Town cemented their place in the top five with another trademark away display.
And a satisfied Money was delighted with the way his team eked out another three points in their quest for promotion.
"I thought it was another thoroughly professional and convincing performance," he said afterwards.
"Even though the score was 1-0 it was still pretty comfortable and it's a very important three points for us.
"We started really well and could have been a couple of goals up before we even scored and by half-time."
Despite missing several chances to put the game beyond doubt the Town chief was more than happy to see his side come away with victory from their first visit to Eastbourne.
"We're at the stage of the season that all that matters is the three points," he said.
"If you play well then that's a bonus and I thought we did today.
"I think it was the kind of performance where we had so much quality of possession that we should have gone on and won 2-0 or 3-0.
"But we've come away with the right result and it was just the final pass that was missing.
"One day we will find that killer pass and one day we will win by four or five.
"But I'd rather we win five games 1-0 than one game 5-0."
With York and Stevenage losing at Ebbsfleet and Rushden respectively, the Hatters further closed the game on the sides at the top.
And the win at Priory Lane sets-up another important game on Tuesday when they try and protect their fantastic away record at York.
Minstermen and BSP top goalscorer Richard Brodie was red-carded on Saturday and is likely to miss the game in midweek.
But Money refused to be drawn into thinking that decision makes the Town's chances any easier at Bootham Crescent.
"I seem to remember that we said the same about Oxford's James Constable," he said.
"His replacement Jack Midson was probably their best player so one player makes no difference to us.
"It will be a difficult game but we will have Liam Hatch and Keith Keane available so it will give me plenty of selection problems."
