A delighted Richard Money was proud of his side's unbelievable comeback that earned a last-gasp 2-1 victory over league leaders Oxford United at Kenilworth Road.
It had looked like the Town were going to be on the receiving end of another home defeat after Matt Green's 74th-minute strike.
However, incredibly, injury-time goals from George Pilkington and Keith Keane - direct from a corner - sealed a dramatic turnaround to send the home faithful into raptures.
And the Hatters boss believed his side were worthy of the three points that takes them to within eight points of Chris Wilder's U's in the Blue Square Premier table.
"I'm pleased with the result but I am pleased with the performance most," he told Hatters Player afterwards.
"I was proud of them and I thought we thoroughly deserved to win tonight.
"Even if we had lost 1-0 I still would have been proud of their effort because I thought we deserved it.
"Sometimes you don't get what you deserve but we did tonight.
"Oxford had one shot in the second half and had a couple of forays in the first. Mark Tyler's had to make a good save but we've created a hatful of chances tonight.
"It would have been a real kick in the teeth to have lost but we kept at it and got our reward in the end."
With talk now turning to a possible tilt at the title, the Town boss is still keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
"We have an experienced dressing room so we won't get too carried away," he said.
"We've shown some great resilience this year, especially since Christmas.
"After Ebbsfleet I knew we'd get a response at Barrow and I knew we'd play well tonight.
"It would have been hard to pick the players up had we lost but it will be a helluva lot easier now.
"All the players are saying the right things. We'll get prepared for Eastbourne on Saturday.
"The training ground will be a euphoric place tomorrow and so it should be - you've got to enjoy games like tonight.
"But we'll come in Thursday and get ready for a big game on Saturday."
But it was the performance of his players Money was pleased with the most.
He said: "We've been a bit scratchy in terms of performances of late but we've kept on picking up results to keep us in contention.
"Tonight I saw some really good things.
"Tactically we got it spot on. The longer the game wore on I thought we moved the ball around really well on a pudding of a pitch.
"Craig Nelthorpe's come on been a threat as has Matthew Barnes-Homer.
"He's been a bit hit and miss so far but tonight I thought 'he'll be a really good player for this club'.
"With players coming back we have competition for places and threats all over the pitch.
"Five wins out of six will mean people will look us and think they are gained momentum.
"But it's down to us. We're playing catch-up and we've got to keep going, so let's see where it takes us."
