A satisfied Richard Money hailed his side's "perfect, professional performance" after Liam Hatch's late goal secured a vital three points at Barrow.
Hatch's header from Kevin Nicholls' corner seven minutes from time settled the Blue Square Premier game in the Hatters' favour.
And after last Saturday's disappointing defeat at home to Ebbsfleet the Town boss was pleased to see his side bounce back to winning ways.
"I thought we gave a thoroughly professional away performance at a real tough place to come," Money said afterwards.
"It didn't go unnoticed to us that Stevenage, Oxford, AFC Wimbledon and York have come here and only drawn and Mansfield have been beaten.
"I think it was just about the perfect performance. We won the battle in the first half and as the game went on we were hoping to take the lead at some point and we've done that.
"We had a few good chances in the first half and after missing a few you do think 'is it going to be our day?' but even so 0-0 wouldn't have been the worst result.
"But it was a great ball from Nicholls and a great header from Hatch and we nearly got a similar one near the end that would have made it 2-0."
The result puts the Hatters in joint fifth place in the BSP and means they still haven't lost on the road in the league since losing 3-0 at Wrexham on 22nd September.
In fact the Town have yet to concede a goal in their past six league fixtures on the road - a record that impresses the manager.
"We've been very professional away from home since I have been at the club," he said.
"We've picked up some good results and have become strong and very difficult to play against.
"Now we've got to be like that at home and do it consistantly.
"It's very pleasing to not have conceded on our travels and today was very important. That's four wins in five for us now and it's up to us to back it up with a good performance against Oxford on Tuesday."
The main talking point surrounded the Town goalscorer, with Hatch almost withdrawn five minutes before his goal until injury forced Claude Gnakpa to go off instead.
"Liam had a tight hamstring at half-time and throughout the second half we kept asking him if he was alright," revealed the manager,
"But he's a real warrior and his goal epitomised that.
"We were going to bring him off so I guess that's the bit of luck we had and it's worked out for us."
The game also marked the return of goalkeeper Mark Tyler from injury and the Hatters boss was full of praise for his number one.
"We felt Mark had enough experience to come straight back into the team," Money said.
"It may look harsh on Shane Gore who has waited for his chance but we thought it was the right decision.
"Mark is our number one goalkeeper and I thought he looked very reassuring behind our back four today - there's no doubt about that.
"We didn't make wholesale changes to the team after the Ebbsfleet defeat because we wanted to give the players a chance who had done so well at Gateshead and Histon to put that bad day at the office behind them."
With Oxford the visitors to Kenilworth Road on Tuesday for an eagerly-anticipated fixture, the Hatters boss highlighted the significance of the victory at Holker Street.
"We knew we had to get back on track after last Saturday," he said.
"Today's win sets us up nicely for next block of games.
"Tuesday is just another game. Does anyone think that Oxford will be any tougher than today?"
