Rochdale manager Keith Hill was a relieved man after his side came away from Kenilworth Road with the point which ensured the Dale will compete in next month's League 2 Play-Offs.
Hill felt the half-time changes turned the game in favour of his side, after they had gone into the break a goal down. He also admitted that he was forced to change the teams' game plan after Luton conjured up one or two surprises in the first half, and explained how he longed for the final whistle to blow once Adam Rundle netted the all important equaliser.
The Dale boss told rochdaleafc.co.uk: "It's fantastic to be in the Play-Offs for the second successive year but to be honest that was the longest game in my short managerial history.
"We had watched Luton on Tuesday and thought that the shape we had would affect them but they decided to change it! We made the substitutions at the break and it worked for us and we looked a lot more comfortable. We got a deserved equaliser for our second half performance and could have gone on and won it."
"I don't think we played particularly well in the first half, but Luton did well keeping the ball and having the lion's share of possession. It was difficult and the system we set out with wasn't working, so we changed it around at the break.
"I am more than happy to take the point because it was a difficult game to be involved in. I am glad that it is over and that we are through the line now."
