Town midfielder Rossi Jarvis netted his first league goal of the campaign in the 1-1 draw against Barnet. The 21-year-old lobbed the onrushing Bees goalkeeper Lee Harrison four minutes after half-time to earn a hard-fought point for the Hatters.
Jarvis credited the assist from Michael Spillane and was pleased to score his first goal since November:
"It was great vision from Mickey Spillane - a great ball over - and all I needed to do was get another little touch over the goalkeeper and luckily it bounced in."
With Mick Harford opting for a more defensive formation at Underhill, the side seemed to take some time to adjust, and found themselves a goal down going into the break. Jarvis felt it was a much more convincing performance from the Hatters in the second half and that the visitors were good value for their equaliser:
"In the first half it didn't work out as well we thought. But in the second half we got pushed a little bit higher and that allowed us to put more pressure on, and we played some decent football in the second half. We fully deserved to get back into the game.
"To be fair to the lads, we dug in and we were pushing for the winner. Just because we've been relegated doesn't mean we're going to stop winning games."
The former Norwich City midfielder described the referee's decision making as "petty" after he saw fit to award the Bees a second half penalty, and then send Kevin Nicholls off for an off-the-ball incident, but hailed Dean Brill's spot-kick save:
"The referee made good decisions and bad decisions, and in most people's eyes, that was a bad decision.
"The penalty was another decision that didn't go our way. Brillie pulled off a great save as the penalty was high up. When they're down low they're easier to save, it was nearly in the top corner so it was an unbelievable save."
And with just three matches in the Football League remaining, Jarvis spoke of his eagerness to begin next season and help Luton bounce back to League 2:
"The players have got it in their minds what we've got to do and what we've got to achieve next season and if we go on a winning streak now we can push on for next season.
"We want to win games and hopefully go on a run next season and win promotion."
