After watching Brighton & Hove Albion record their first win over Luton at Kenilworth Road for 74 years - a win that relegated the Hatters, the Seagulls's assistant manager Dean White paid tribute to battling efforts of the Luton players.

"It was a difficult game," White told Brighton's official website. "They put us under pressure at times, but we weathered the storm and looked a decent team on the break.

"It was a typical end-of-season game at times, but it is just nice to come here and win. I can't ever remember winning here - either with Brighton or anyone else - and they've got a good home record, so it's a feather in our cap.

"It was untidy but you get these games at the end of the season. You don't often get flowing football, but we rolled our sleeves up and at times played some good stuff, particularly in the second half.

"We just have to go and win the three remaining games, get the points and see where that takes us.

"There's nothing else we can do about it, so let's get the points and see what happens."
