Kevin Blackwell admitted he was 'bitterly disappointed' by his teams 1-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

After a mistake from full-back Alan Goodall, former Luton striker Tresor Kandol scored the only goal of the game as Luton suffered their second league defeat of the season.

But Blackwell did take satisfaction from the way his side performed in a highly-charged atmosphere at Elland Road.

"I think everyone was looking forward to the game. We didn't come to sit back, we came here to try and win it was as simple as that.

"At the moment Leeds are on a crest of a wave. I think the 15 points deduction has had a real galvanising effect on them. They have won this game and there are no complaints from me on that.

"I felt we put on a performance and I am sure many people felt we would sit back, but that is certainly not the style if you have the players that I have got.

"Maybe we should have done more with the balls in the box so from that respect I am bitterly disappointed."

Blackwell also played down the spat that erupted at the end of the game involving both sets of dugouts after the Luton boss shook hands with his Leeds counterpart, Dennis Wise.

"It was nothing. It was boys being boys. If you haven't got passion for the game then you shouldn't be in it."
