'VERY DISAPPOINTING', ADMITS BOSS
Kevin Blackwell described his side's performance as 'very disappointing' following a 2-1 defeat to Swindon Town.
Luton were outdone by a late Craig Easton effort after it looked as if the Hatters had done enough for a valuable point.
David Edwards' clever looping header on 66 minutes had cancelled out Lee Peacock's first goal of the season which was struck early in the second half.
But Swindon, who also had two efforts cleared off the line and one goal disallowed, persevered and Easton's late strike settled the differences.
And Blackwell admitted he felt his side didn't look sharp enough in the wet conditions at the County Ground.
"We are very disappointed," admitted Blackwell. "I think we felt as a group that we didn't look sharp today for whatever reason.
"To get back to 1-1, we are then very disappointed to have conceded a late goal.
"You have to set standards that are better than that and I think the players, and myself, know that.
"As a group we have decided where we want to go this season and along that journey you will have ups and downs and you have to deal with those.
"I think we could have done certain things better today and we will be working on that back on the training ground."
Despite being disappointed over his own teams performance, Blackwell did give praise to Swindon.
"Swindon played a high tempo game, so fair play to them. They put us under a lot of pressure which was difficult.
"They had a few efforts which we cleared off the line so you have to give Swindon some credit."
Luton were also hit with an injury problem to striker Paul Peschisolido, who picked up a knock to the ankle.
And news concerning Sam Parkin isn't particularly pleasing either with the striker set to go back for treatment on his ongoing ankle problem.
"Sam will have to go in next Thursday to have his ankle cleaned out again so that is the third operation he will have on that leg.
"I am hoping it will still be two to three weeks but we will just have to see how he fairs."
