Late last season the Hatters signed an exclusive deal to become a Utility Warehouse Community Fundraiser. The deal was struck to enable our supporters and the wider community to save money on their Utility costs at home, whilst at the same time providing the club with an additional revenue stream to invest in youth and football.

The Utility Warehouse is operated by Telecom plus PLC; a British PLC listed on the London Stock exchange. Utility Warehouse club members benefit from substantial savings on a wide range of essential utility services including: mobile, landline, gas, electricity and broadband. They provide their members with great value, great savings and the best possible customer service. Perhaps it's not surprising that in a recent survey, over 94% of Utility Warehouse customers said they would recommend them to a friend.

The Utility Warehouse turnover which is in excess of £278 million is poised to double in the coming 12 months. This will be driven by their great third party recognition -

  • Financial Times - "U.K's Public Limited Company of the year 2009"
  • Which Magazine - 'Best Buys' throughout 2008 and into 2009

Luton Town Football Club is encouraging its supporters to take up the fantastic opportunity. The Hatters have set a target to help an initial 250 supporters to save money and invest in the club by December 2009, and club director Stephen Browne hopes that loyal supporters will stand up to the call and not only save themselves money but help in spreading the word about the scheme to friends and family.

He said: "When we created our 30k to Wembley campaign, the fans responded absolutely tremendously, unfortunately we ended up having thousands of fans that couldn't get a ticket in the end but we managed to take 40,000 fans to Wembley which was a fantastic effort. We are hoping to receive a similar response to our Community Fundraiser Campaign and we are confident that once supporters see just how much they can save, we will end up hitting that target and hopefully passing it by December."

The Utility Warehouse services all come on just one, fully itemised, monthly bill making, it easy to keep track of your spend and savings. The more services a customer takes, the more savings they make, and if there is a problem, it is simply resolved by making one phone call to a UK based call centre which aims to answer over 90% of calls within 15 seconds. The Utility Warehouse services just get better and better, their Broadcall bundle which is fast speed broadband and home phone line combined was given the Which "best buy" for December 2008 and their CashBack card has also been a great success.

The card enables you to receive up to 5% off goods and fuel at participating retailers and not only that but 5% of your monthly spend on the card will be credited on to your next bill.

Commercial Manager David Hoskins added: "The club's energy contract is up for renewal in the autumn and we are also looking to switch to the Utility Warehouse, everyone involved with the club is being encouraged to take up the opportunity and make substantial savings too. This unique opportunity gives our fans the chance to make substantial savings and make an ongoing form of investment into their beloved club, without dipping into their pockets."

Campaign Administrator and promoter Shaf Hussain said: "The community fundraiser scheme has been taken up by other clubs around the country, and for some it's providing a very valuable source of income. With the fantastic support and loyalty shown by the Hatter's fans over the past few years I don't see why we cannot hit the target of 250 but exceed it considerably by the end of the year. The potential commission revenue to Luton Town will make a huge difference to the finances of the club and the support they can give to the youth set up and first team. Also supporters could save the entire cost of their season ticket with the savings they make each year with the Utility Warehouse."

Supporters can relax knowing, there's no minimum contract on most of the services that the Utility Warehouse provides, so if you're not totally happy with the money you save and their award-winning customer service team…you can go back to your current supplier at any time.

The football club will receive a one-off bonus payment for every Luton Town supporter who joins the Utility Warehouse. In addition, the club will also receive an ongoing monthly commission payment based on the amount of each customers Utility Warehouse bill. This does not cost the customer anything and is paid directly to us by the Utility Warehouse.
