90 mins GOAL! GOAL! Marlow 1-3 HATTERS - I'd been saying how well Watkins, the Marlow keeper, had done to keep the score down and then somehow he lets a seemingly harmless Keane shot from fully 40 yards to slip through his fingers to give the Hatters a healthy two-goal advantage.

90 mins - Another good stop from Watkins, this time from Crow as he worms his way past two defenders to blast a shot goalwards that the keeper beats away well diving to his right.

87 mins - Still all the Town as Watkins begins to get overworked in the Marlow goal, this time getting down well to thwart his namesake's low drive from the edge of the area.

86 mins - Oh dear, what a miss! It should be 3-1 but Gallen somehow side-foots wide from two yards after Howells' super crossfield pass his headed square by Crow into the veteran striker's path.

85 mins - Watkins - that's the Hatters' man not the Marlow goalkeeper - has looked hungry for the ball since his introduction and he tries his luck from 25 yards after seeing his namesake off his line. Unfortunately the shot is hit with too much venom and the ball lands up well over the crossbar.

84 mins - Super football from the Town which the visiting fans are appreciating as Crow comes within a whisker of making it 3-1 with a left-foot shot from an acute angle after being found by White.

83 mins - Change for the Hatters as young Newman Carney replaces Blackett.

81 mins - Howells has been a real menace this half since switching to left midfield and his confidence is shown with an effort from 25 yards that he hits first time after taking a pass from Poku.

78 mins - Sub for the Hatters as Adam Watkins replaces Newton.

77 mins - Chance after chance for the Town now as Howells goes close with a screwed shot that dribbles inches wide after being found by Freddie Murray.

75 mins - Well and truly all the Hatters now as Howells, who is everywhere at the minute, lays the ball into the path of Crow who sends a first-time shot high over the crossbar from 20 yards.

74 mins - With their noses now in front the Town are dominating and pushing for a third. Gallen and Howells combine well down the left which sees Howells cross to an unmarked Poku racing towards the back-post, however the young midfielder can't guide a shot home and Marlow are able to clear.

71 mins GOAL! GOAL! Marlow 1-2 HATTERS - Gallen turns from architect to goalscorer in the spaceof three minutes as he guides a low shot past the fingertips of Watkins after Bailey had slipped him ahead of the home defence.

68 mins GOAL! GOAL! Marlow 1-1 HATTERS - It was only a matter of time. Gallen does well to whip in a cross from the right flank towards Howells unmarked at the back-post who is able to arch a header over the hands of the diving Watkins for the equaliser.

67 mins - The Hatters are still probing in search of an equaliser and only the faintest of touches from Avery prevents Gallen playing in Crow.

66 mins - Half a chance for the Town from a set-piece as White powerfully heads over the Marlow crossbar following Keane's left-wing corner.

62 mins - Still the Hatters press and Marlow have a combination of their two centre backs to prevent a thunderous low shot from Gallen arrowing goalwards after the striker had ran onto to Crow's cut-back on the edge of the area. Brave defending and good hold-up by from Crow.

59 mins - Change for the Town as Stefan Bailey replaces Walker who receives a generous round of applause from the visiting support.

55 mins - Better from the Town as they counter down the left. Gallen slips Murray galloping on the overlap who spots Howells unmarked on the edge of the box. However, the ball just runs underneath his foot and Marlow are able to clear.

53 mins - At the minute it's all Marlow as their tails are up now boosted by the confidence of taking the lead.

48 mins GOAL!GOAL! MARLOW 1-0 Hatters - Who would have thought that? The first time Marlow really get forward sees left-back Gray tangle with Walker on the edge of the penalty area and referee Piggott says penalty. The spot-kick is left to Marlow skipper Woodward who coolly curls it into the bottom corner of the net with Tyler close to getting a hand to it.

48 mins - PENALTY TO MARLOW

47 mins - Those substitutions means the side now line-up as follows: Tyler in goal, a back four of Newton, White, Blackett and F. Murray a midfield of Walker, Keane, Poku and Howells and Gallen and Crow in attack.

46 mins whistleThree changes at the interval for the Town with White, Fred Murray and Poku on for Gleeson, Adam Murray and George Pilkington.

20:41 PRETTY IN PINK

The players line-up to shake hands before kick-off

Adam Newton and Adam Murray stay still long enough for a half-decent picture

Kevin Gallen...pretty in pink?

George Pilkington shows his displeasure with a clearance

HALF-TIME whistle Marlow 0-0 Luton Town - The referee's called time on the first half here at Oak Tree Road and it's goalless so far in 45 minutes of action which the Town have dominated. Standby for some dodgy photographs taken by your unofficial photographer for the night of the commemorative pink and navy shirt...

45 mins - Super chance this time for the Town as Crow is denied by a sprawling save by the leg of Watkins after the striker had been played in by Murray's superb slide-rule pass. Unlucky. Great vision from Murray.

41 mins - Yet another decent chance for the Hatters as they continue to pile on the pressure. Gleeson again gets forward, does well to keep the ball in play before squaring for Newton who sees a shot blocked. It might have been blocked by his own man, Crow, but the linesman still awards a corner which is eventually cleared.

39 mins - A shout for a Town penalty appeal is waved away but the ref as Pilkington heads a Keane corner goalwards. The ball then breaks to Walker, lurking outside the penalty area, who sends a shot curling into the arm of Watkins for a comfortable save.

38 mins - Good interplay between Crow and Newton but as it opens up Newton sends a wild shot sailing way over the crossbar and endangering cars in the car park behind the goal.

35 mins - It seems only a matter of time before the Town take the lead but it still remains goalless. Keane is seeing more of the ball in the middle of the park and is starting to dictate the play. Can they get one before the break?

32 mins - Great chance for the Hatters to take the lead and Marlow need goalkeeper Watkins to thank for acrobatically tipping over Newton's header after he'd sprung to leap Walker's inswinging left-wing cross. Unlucky.

31 mins - Another foray forward from right-back by Gleeson sees him upended by crudely on the edge of the box that results in a free-kick that Gallen belts into the midrift of Harman in the Marlow wall.

29 mins - Still the Town attack as Crow and Gleeson link-up well showing an understanding forged at Cambridge which eventually sees the right-back send in a dangerous cross that eludes everyone in the penalty area.

26 mins - Constant Hatters pressure now as they have two shots blocked by brave Marlow defending in the space of 20 seconds. Firstly Gallen has an angled effort turned away by Avery from eight yards before the ball comes out to Walker on the left-hand edge of the penalty area and his rasping shot is charged down by Case.

22 mins - Almost a chance for the Town but Crow's touch is a touch heavy and the ball bounces away after the striker was in a great position to pull the trigger having been found really well by Gallen's cut-back from the left flank.

20 mins - All the Hatters now as they look to break the deadlock and Howells is denied a pop at goal following an enterprising run forward from left-back by a well-timed tackle by a Marlow defender.

17 mins - Watkins in the Marlow goal gets his fingers warm again as Gallen sends a shot into his grasp from 18 yards after taking a pass from Howells. A simple take for the keeper in the end and Gallen is, as ever, unhappy with himself.

14 mins - By the way, I've not forgotten about those photographs. I'll upload a couple at half-time.

12 mins - First sight at goal for the hosts as Woodward whacks a free-kick high, wide and handsome form just outside the box after Walker had felled Mealing.

10 mins - Gleeson is looking to get forward at every opportunity and he tries an ambitious effort from range that isn't far away, rocketing past the goalkeeper's left-hand post.

8 mins - Encouraging signs from Walker down the left-flank for the Hatters as the trialist skins his marker, looks up and spots Keane at the back-post. It's a good pass but Keano's touch is unaccustomedly off and the ball bobbles behind and a good chance goes begging.

6 mins - And then there's a chance. Walker plays the bal into the feet of Gallen who turns and feeds Newton who in turn squares to Newton. The Hatters number 7 spots Crow unmarked on the right hand side of the six yard box who drives a low shot goalwards that home keeper Watkins does well to parry before gathering at the second attempt.

4 mins - Very low key beginning to this commemorative friendly. That early cross from Gleeson has been as good as it's got so far.

3 mins - The Hatters are lining up as follows: Tyler in goal, a back four of Gleeson, G. Pilks, Blackett and Howells; a midfield of Newton, Keane, Adam Murray and Walker with Gallen and Crow in attack.

1 min - Chance after 35 seconds as Gleeson's dangerous cross is turned behind by Case, the Marlow right-back with Gallen and Crow sniffing for what would have been a tap-in.

1 min whistle And we're off, a healthy crowd as gathered here at Oak Tree Road and it's the Town who get us underway.

19:47 TRIALIST NAMED

The Walker in the Town team is Daniel Walker, the player who impressed playing against the Hatters for Bedford on Saturday.

19:44 TICKLED PINK!

Who, what, why...?

You'll find out soon enough but the Town are sporting pink and navy blue halved shirts, navy shorts and pink and navy blue hooped socks. Pictures to follow...

19:05 EVENING ALL

We're live at Marlow's quaint Oak Tree Road ground for live updates of the Hatters' friendly with Marlow.

The story behind tonight's friendly signifies the opening chapter in the Luton Town story that began 125 years ago against the Buckinghamshire side, then known as Great Marlow.

A 3-0 FA Cup defeat isn't the most auspicious of starts in the life of a football club, but, nonetheless, the game on 31st October 1885 was the first time a Town team took to a football pitch in a competitive match.
