A goal from Matthew Barnes-Homer 10 minutes into the second half earned the Town a 1-1 draw at Milton Road.
Southern League City led at the interval through striker Craig Hammond's strike before Barnes-Homer found the net after Tom Craddock had cushioned a header into his path following Adam Newton's right-wing cross.

Result from Milton Road
Cambridge City 1 (Hammond 30)
Luton Town 1 (Barnes-Homer 55)
FULL-TIME - It's all over at Milton Road and it's ended 1-1. A full report, reaction and photographs will be on lutontown.co.uk over the next few hours and during tomorrow so stay tuned.
90 mins - We're in the last minute and, while it's all the Town so far, it looks as though it's going to end all square...
87 mins - Another sub for the Hatters as Crow replaces MBH who limps off after being on the receiving end of a robust City challenge.
86 mins - Half a chance for the Town as Freddie Murray whips in a cross from the left to Newton ghosting in at the back post but - under pressure from his marker - he can only head wide, much to his disappointment.
84 mins - Not much more to tell you about I'm afraid. Cambridge have introduced a number of subtitutes and do look livelier than they did earlier in the half.
79 mins - Plenty of confident possession football from the Town but they can't find that killer pass to fashion a chance the minute. Still 1-1.
74 mins - Half a chance for Craddock as he swing a boot at a Howells' set-piece but his shot his blocked bravely by Elenge, now performing his defensive duties.
72 mins - First real action of the second half for Pilkington in the Hatters goal as he leaps upwards to keep out a firm header from City's giant substitute defender Elenge following a right-wing free-kick from fellow sub Rogers. Easy pickings though for the Town stopper.
70 mins - Fourth change for the Town arrives on the 70-minute mark as Poku replaces Adam Murray.
68 mins - We've been telling you how well Drury's been performing in these friendlies so far...then he goes and accidentally kicks the corner flag when lining up a flag kick. Thankfully for him, not many people saw it...
65 mins - Still the Town pour forward looking for that second. Newton again curls in a dangerous cross aimed for the back-post that picks out Craddock who nods at down to Barrett's right-hand post which the keeper gathers.
63 mins - It really is all the Hatters at the minute. Dominating since the second 45 began, City have hardly had a sniff with Howells, Newton and MBH all impressing for the visitors.
59 mins - Barnes-Homer has started this second half on fire and he comes close again by hitting a shot on the turn just wide from six yards.
58 mins - MBH comes within a lick of paint to making it 2-1. He takes a wonderful crossfield pass from Howells in his stride to firmly hit a right-foot shot across goal. With Barrett beaten the ball bounces off the post and, with no Town man on hand to knock in what would be an open goal, City clear. Unlucky.

GOAL! Cambridge C 1-1 HATTERS - It had been coming and a nice move is finished with a stunning finish from Barnes-Homer. Howells does well down the right to tee up Newton to cross. His pass to the back-stick is good and finds Craddock perfectly. He cushions a header into the path of MBH who does the rest by whacking the ball past Barrett from 10 yards.
50 mins - The way the Town are lining up at the minute sees G. Pilks playing in a holding central midfield role.
49 mins - All the Hatters now and City this time need left-back Krause to clear a Howells header off the line following Drury's dangerous inswinging corner. A very positive start from the visitors.
48 mins - Should be 1-1 and City have got two breathtaking stops from Barrett to keep it 1-0. Newton does well to cross from the right which looks for all the world MBH will head home but Barrett gets a glove to it to repel the danger. However, the ball spins up to the head of Craddock who sees his effort parried again acrobatically tips away the chance before Murray blazes the ball over the top. Incredible goalkeeping.
46 mins - We're off for the second 45 minutes at Milton Road and Richard Money has made three changes at the break. George Pilkington, Jake Howells and Adam Newton replaces Stefan Bailey, Dan Gleeson and Kevin Gallen.
HALF-TIME: Cambridge City 1-0 Luton Town. A goal down at the interval for the Hatters in what's an even contest so far even if the scoreline doesn't show it. Check back for all the updates in 15 minutes.
43 mins - Tenacious play from MBH - winning two 50/50 challenges - almost results in a chance for the Town but Bailey's cross from the left isn't the best and Cambridge eventually clear.
40 mins - All eyes turns to Walton again as City have a shout for a penalty waved away when White and Sands collide just inside the penalty. I wouldn't have liked to call that.
39 mins - All the Hatters now with Drury again impressing. He creates a chance that sees Gallen free in the area before Cambridge close ranks but the ball falls to Newton on the edge of the area who hits a shot just wide. Better from the visitors.
36 mins - Great chance for one a piece. Drury swings in a right wing corner that MBH reacts quickest to, seeing a shot blocked. The ball then fall inviting for Gallen six yards out but the veteran striker can only volley a right-foot shot the wrong side of the post with the goal gaping.
33 mins - City still lead but the Town are always looking a menace going forward with Craddock keen to dribble past the home defence at will. Drury and Bailey have swapped flanks.
30 mins
GOAL! CAMBRIDGE C 1-0 Hatters - Bad news for the Town as the hosts lead. Chaffey is played in by Fuller's slide rule pass and unselfishly squares the ball across goal for Hammond to confidently stroke home from eight yards for the evening's opening goal.
27 mins - The game springs to life all a sudden as both sides come close to break the deadlock in the space of 30 seconds. Firstly the hosts miss a great opportunity to make it 1-0 when Burke attempts a fancy back-flick from 15 yards when he was originally much better positioned to test Pilkington. The Hatters then go up the other through Drury, who marches through and whacks a vicious effort narrowly over the crossbar that draws wows of excitement from the small crowd.
22 mins - Whistler Walton has is work cut out momentarily as White - skippering the Hatters tonight - reacts angrily to a beefy challenge on him Hammond. Whitey isn't best pleased and most of the ground are able to hear exactly what he thinks.
19 mins - Half a chance for the Town to take the lead as Drury robs Chaffey of the ball and drives forward. He has options either side of him and opts for Craddock, unmarked to his left, however the less said about the striker's effort the better, as he takes it first time - outside of the area - which curls well over Barrett's crossbar.
15 mins - A clear-cut chance for Cambridge and Pilkington gets his hands warm for the first time. Striker Craig Hammond seizes on a loose ball 25 yards from a goal and drives a shot straight into the midrift of the Hatters' goalkeeper.
14 mins - I should also point out that Drury is playing on the left-side of midfield tonight, unlike the right flank position in which he featured in the Town's last two friendlies.
13 mins - Premier League referee Peter Walton is our man in the middle this evening, by the way.
10 mins - If you want to know the Cambridge City side it is as follows: Barrett, Nightingale, Krause, Kennedy, Theobald, Chaffey, Burke, Cambridge, Hammond, Sands, Fuller. Subs: Elenge, Rogers, Abbs, Hillard, McCrowan, Austin, O'Brien, Ashie.
7 mins - All the Town so far as Craddock cuts the ball back for Bailey who sees a shot blocked by a City defender. The balls breaks to Adam Murray, waiting with intent on the edge of the box who dinks a shot goalwards that Barrett does well to get the faintest of fingers to to turn it over the crossbar.
6 mins - A bright start for the Hatters and Craddock is his mischievous self. He rounds Zac Barrett in the home goal but is forced wide but MBH is on the scene to chance his arm with an effort on goal but he sees a chance stopped by the home keeper.
4 mins - Some errors on the team sheet include Matthew Barnes-Humer, Kevin Gatlen and Andy Dury. Must be some new boys.
2 mins - The Town are lining up as follows: K. Pilks in goal, a back four of Freddie Murray, White, Blackett and Gleeson - making his first appearance for the Town - a midfield of Drury, Gallen, Adam Murray and Newton with Craddock and MBH up top.
1 min - And we're off as the Town, sporting an old navy and orange away shirt from 2008/09, get us under way on a beauty of a Milton Road pitch. It's like a bowling green. Lovely and warm here, too.
19:45 THE TOWN TEAM
Hatters: K. Pilkington, Gleeson, A. Murray, F. Murray, White, Blackett, Bailey, Craddock, Barnes-Homer, Gallen, Drury. Subs:Tyler, Crow, Howells, Newton, K. Pilkington.
