MONEY ON BEDFORD WIN

Posted on: Sat 17 Jul 2010

As the scoreline suggested, it wasn't the greatest of spectacles, but Richard Money admitted afterwards his side looked a little drained after beating Bedford Town 1-0 at the New Eyrie.

It was a goal from striker Danny Crow that earned the Town their second successive win but the manager believes the threat posed by the Eagles will stand them in good stead in the coming weeks.

"I thought Bedford did really well," Money said. "It was a bit more like what we're used to facing in the Conference where the opposition play 4-5-1, but it was a good exercise for us.

"We were a bit leggy but the players can be proud of their efforts over the past two weeks because they've all worked really hard.

"Pre-season is all about fitness and sometimes, at this stage, it can be a bit stressful.

"Eventually we will get to the stage where we'll send out a team that is fresh. Most of them today got 45 or 60 minutes and a few had 90."
